Niger State Police Command has apprehended four individuals suspected of stealing fish valued at approximately ₦750,000 from a fish farm in Lapai-Gwari via Chanchaga.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the suspects were arrested following an investigation into the theft, which occurred on several occasions.

The statement read, “On September 8, 2025, one Hussaini Garba and Umar Danfulani, presently at large, both of Lapai-Gwari via Chanchaga, criminally conspired, trespassed to a fish farm in the area, and carted away fish valued at about ₦750,000 on several occasions.”
Hussaini Garba was arrested and brought to the police station, where he allegedly confessed to the crime.
During interrogation, Garba mentioned Ahmed Yusuf of Lapai-Gwari, Ibrahim Musa of Tungan-goro, and Abdulazeez Bawa of City-gate as the receivers he sold most of the fish to at various times.
The police subsequently arrested these individuals, and all four suspects have been charged in court for prosecution.
