Niger State Police Command has arrested another suspect, Dauda Umar Sarki, in connection with the murder of Mohammed Abdulsafur, the village head of Lambata, which occurred on January 14, 2023.
The suspect was apprehended by officers from the Gawu Babangida division, following orders from Justice Aisha Wodu Bawa of High Court Number 3 in Suleja.
Sarki will be held in a correctional facility alongside other suspects implicated in the case.
The court has denied a bail application from one of the suspects, Ibrahim Musa, also known as Na’Allah.
Justice Bawa has adjourned the case to February 27 and 29 for a definitive hearing, with the suspects remaining in custody until then. The judge urged the legal representatives involved to avoid unnecessary delays in the proceedings.
