Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has commiserated with the family of former Vice-Chancellor of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) Lapai, late Prof. Mohammed Daniyan, over the loss of his wife, Prof. Safiya Daniyan of the Department of Microbiology, School of Life Sciences, Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna.
In a message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the Governor described the death of the University Don as painful and a huge loss not only to the FUT Minna, but the entire State.
He recalled her numerous contributions to the growth and development of FUT Minna, adding that her demise will no doubt create a vacuum that only Allah can fill it up.

The Governor expressed his heartfelt condolences to the immediate and extended family as well as the Management of FUT Minna over the loss.
He also commiserated with the Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers , Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar over the death of one of his subject.
He prayed that Allah will grant the deceased Aljannah Firdausi and comfort all those affected by the loss.
Late Prof. Safiya Daniyan was a dedicated and committed lecturer and researcher at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, in the Department of Microbiology, School of Life sciences and authored several books.
She is also a sister to the Pro-Chancellor of the Abdulkadir Kure University Minna, Prof. Mohammed Kuta Yahaya.
