Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has sympathised with the people of Mokwa Local Government Area over the recent devastating flood that led to the loss of lives and destruction of properties.
The Governor, in a message through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, described the incident as saddening, heartbreaking and pathetic.

He expressed his condolences to the families of those that lost their lives and properties in the unfortunate incident, and prayed that Allah will grant the deceased Aljanna Firdausi as well as grant a quick recovery to the injured.
The Governor directed the Niger State Emergency Management Agency and other relevant stakeholders to take immediate necessary actions while assessing the situation to ascertain the level of destruction with the view to bringing succour.
He called on the people of Mokwa to remain calm as the state government will work tirelessly to ensure the safety of everyone.
The deadly flood disaster ravaged Tiffin Maza and Anguwan Hausawa Communities in Mokwa town after several hours of heavy downpour, which led to the loss of lives and many buildings being submerged.
