Niger Delta Affairs Minister meets Jonathan, Asari Dokubo

The Minister of Niger Delta Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh has embarked on courtesy visits to some prominent leaders in the Niger Delta to navigate his role as the Minister of Niger Delta Development for the effective running of the Ministry.

The Minister, who visited former President Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in his Abuja residence, shared insightful discussions as well as deliberated on strategies to combat the issue of stolen crude oil, enhance infrastructure, and generate employment opportunities for the teeming youths of the Niger Delta.

Engr. Momoh commended former President Jonathan for sharing his experience aimed at the betterment of the Niger Delta region.

He also thanked Jonathan for his support and mentorship as they work together to address critical challenges and advance the development of the nation.

To further his consultations with stakeholders in the Niger Delta region, Engr. Momoh also held a meeting with Alhaji Asari-Dokubo, a prominent figure among the Ijaw ethnic group.

The primary topics of discussion included regional peace and strategies to combat crude theft, which has been detrimental to Nigeria’s oil production.

Alh. Asari-Dokubo, who holds significant influence as a political figure, provided advice and expressed his commitment to supporting the Minister in his role as the Minister of Niger Delta Development.

According to the Minister, “his support and advice are greatly appreciated as we work towards a better future for the Niger Delta region and, by extension, the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.

Dokubo stated that Niger Deltans have to support the Minister to ensure that he delivers and to stop detractors of the Region from causing obstructions that will derail the development plan of the Ministry of Niger Delta Development.
