Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police has presented cheques amounting to N31,229,567.95k (thirty-one million, two hundred and twenty-nine thousand, six hundred and fifty-seven naira, ninety-five kobo) to some next of kins and families of deceased personnel under the Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident and IGP Family Welfare Schemes of the Force.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, stated this in a Press statement issued and made available to Journalists on Monday in Minna.
The statement added that during the presentation, the CP asserted that the cheques were being presented to the families on behalf of the IGP as an appreciation, to show that no matter what happens, the Police would not leave the families behind.
He said, “It’s a token for the sacrifice of your loved ones and to appreciate the families for the sacrifices and the sufferings”.
The CP was quoted to have urged the families to receive the token with a heart of gratitude and appreciation and encouraged them to utilise it for the well-being of the family.
“He reiterates that on behalf of the IGP, the families should use this as muster seed that can grow better, as he expresses hope that this will be wisely used to meet the purpose,” CP Ebenezer Danmamman was said to have remarked.
Meanwhile, the CP and the Command’s Clergymen offered special prayers for the families and the fallen heroes in the line of duty.
