Justice Aisha Wodu of the Niger State High Court number 3 sitting in Suleja has ordered the re-remand of Musa Ibrahim, also known as Na-Allah Dagba, who is standing trial for alleged involvement in the killing of the late village head of Lanbata, Mohammed Abdulsafur.
The suspect was in court following an order from the judge after he was granted bail by a high court sitting in Minna under the name Ibrahim Musa.
Justice Aisha ordered that the suspect be produced by the surety who stood for him to face his charges, as he is identified in the murder of the village head of Lambata as Na-Allah Dagba.
Though the suspect pleaded not guilty to the charges of culpable homicide and joint act, contrary to sections 221 and 79 of the Penal Code read against him.
Meanwhile, the judge granted bail to Basiru Mohammed, accused number 28 in the matter, in the sum of N4 million and a surety who is not less than a director in the civil service with landed property and a Certificate of Occupancy within the jurisdiction of the court.
Justice Aisha Wodu has adjourned the matter to the 10th and 11th of June for the commencement of hearing witnesses, following an application by the prosecuting state counsel, Barrister Umar Hamidu, who stated that they intend to file amended charges as some of the accused persons are still at large.
He also informed the court that accused number 1 and 2, Iliya and Hamza Umar Sarkin, were not in court as they were said to have been transferred to Kuje Custodial Center following the escape of some inmates in Suleja Custodial Center after the recent collapse of some parts of the custodial center.
