In her reaction, Adeniyi dedicated the award to members of the NIA, stating “This award is a testament to the resilience, creativity, and commitment of Nigerian architects in shaping our cities and communities. It inspires me to continue advocating for innovative design solutions, sustainable development, and the professional growth of our members.”
On her part, Oguntala, the first female president of the NSE, described the honour as a call to greater service.
“I am deeply humbled by this recognition. It affirms that our collective efforts to champion engineering excellence, embrace innovation, and promote inclusivity are making a real impact. I dedicate this award to every engineer working tirelessly to build a better Nigeria,” she added.
AIHS Convener, Festus Adebayo, praised both women as symbols of transformative leadership in Africa’s built environment.
“Arc. Adeniyi and Engr. Oguntala are proof that when women lead, development follows. They have set a standard for professional bodies in Nigeria and beyond, driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and inspiring the next generation of leaders in architecture and engineering,” he said.
The Best of AIHS Dinner 2025 brought together top policy makers, governors, ministers, and industry leaders to celebrate individuals and institutions making measurable impacts in housing, infrastructure, and urban development.
