A non-governmental organisation in Zamfara State, Voluntary Aid Initiative (VAI), held its 2024 annual stakeholders meeting, stating that its aim is to bring smiles to every community in the state.
The VAI Executive Director made the disclosure on Monday evening during the 2024 annual end-of-the-year meeting held at the VAI Conference Hall in Gusau, Zamfara State.
Aboki, who was full of joy and happiness during the year-end meeting, appreciated the support of his staff since they started their journey as an NGO in the state.
“Voluntary Aid Initiative (VAI), our aim is to put a smile on every community. Alhamdulillah, glory be to God, despite the insecurity in the state, we have not lost any of our staff since we started this journey,” he revealed.
According to him, in 2024, VAI received awards from partners like International Alert, a UK-funded NGO, and the Cleen Foundation, among others.
He explained that VAI’s project with International Alert was promoting stability, access to justice, and accountability to victims in the state.
“Our project aimed at inclusive participation of community groups in alternative dispute resolution to reduce the prevalence of community-level violence, which I believe we have recorded success,” he stressed.
Musa Aboki further appreciated the support of partners and staff of VAI for their contributions to the success recorded in 2024 in the state.
Earlier on, the Senior Program Officer, Mustafa Mohammed, said VAI has initiated a lot of programs that have had a significant impact in the state and were successfully implemented with the support of other NGOs.
In a goodwill message, the Zamfara State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Dr. Abdulaziz Sani SAN, said he is very concerned with anything related to community development.
“Anything good for the state, I’m very concerned with it, and I like to be associated with it. The present administration of Governor Dauda Lawal is sincere and committed to programs for the development of the state,” he maintained.
He assured VAI that his doors are open at any time for meaningful discussions toward the development of communities.
Also, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Health, Dr Nafisa Mohammed Maradun, appreciated the support of VAI and assured that her ministry would always remain supportive of developmental programs in the state.
In their separate goodwill messages, partners including Hajiya Zainab Nyako from the Society for Family Health, Halima Garba from Pro-Health International, and the Zamfara State AGILE Deputy Coordinator all appreciated VAI’s support in the state.
