The newly deployed Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Onikan, AIG Fayoade Adegoke, has warned the men and officers of the zone against any form of unprofessionalism and abuse of office.
The Zone 2 Police boss issued this warning on Thursday during his maiden lecture with personnel at the command headquarters in Onikan.
AIG Fayoade also charged the officers to always respect the rule of law and to imbibe the fear of God in their day-to-day policing operations.
The image maker in charge of the zone, SP Umma Ayuba, in a statement on Thursday, said, “AIG Fayoade, while addressing personnel of the Command, warned them to refrain from all forms of unprofessional conduct, respect the rule of law, imbibe the fear of God, and exhibit high standards of policing, as the command is a terrain he is familiar with, and he is delighted to be back.”
He re-emphasised the need to improve the image of not just the zone but the entire Nigeria Police Force.
The Zone 2 Police spokesperson also continued, “He maintained that his overall objective is to ensure that the crime rate in Lagos and Ogun States is reduced to the barest minimum, taking policing to a higher level of service delivery to members of the public.”
He thereafter encouraged personnel to embrace the spirit of unification, contribute meaningfully, and work tirelessly to rid the zone of criminal activities while considering their health and general well-being.
