During this new season, always approach the Lord with faith. Be expectant. Cast off all doubt; refuse to be moved by what you see. Believe God’s word over and above the breaking news.
Living a life of faith and positive expectancy requires mindset shift and a new set of actions. To navigate a new season with faith and positive expectancy, you need to start trusting in God’s plan and actively training your mind to focus on hope rather than fear. This intentional approach helps you move forward with confidence, even when you cannot see the full picture.
To ground your faith in God’s unchanging nature, always remember His faithfulness in the past. Recall how God helped you through past challenges. Document answered prayers and moments of divine guidance; they can serve as a powerful reminders of His consistent care.
Trust in God’s sovereign control. When you are faced with uncertainty, remind yourself that God’s plans are unshakeable. Don’t try to control every outcome; surrender your need to His hands and you will have a deep sense of peace.
Furthermore, embrace God’s perspective all the time. Recognize that your current situation is part of a bigger, purposeful plan. The seasons of life are designed to shape you, and even difficult times are for your growth and good. So, give thanks to God all the time—not minding the season or the situation.
A child of God needs to cultivate a mindset of positive expectancy and focus on gratitude. You must actively focus on and appreciate the good things in your life, no matter how small. A gratitude journal can train the brain to seek out blessings instead of dwelling on what is wrong. Keep a gratitude journal. Write something in the journal daily.
Next, learn to reframe negative thoughts. When negative self-talk or fearful thoughts arise, consciously challenge and reframe them. Find the potential for growth and opportunity instead of focusing on what could go wrong. For example, change “I cannot do this” to “I will try this in a different way”.
As you move forward with your life, you must prioritise prayer and scripture. Start each day by seeking God through prayer and reading His Word. This aligns the heart and mind with His will, helping to surrender worries and find clarity. Consistent time in scripture also anchors you in truth when emotions threaten to overwhelm you.
While you are waiting, worship. Worship while waiting is a powerful way to shift focus from your circumstances to God’s sovereignty. Praising God in the midst of uncertainty is a declaration of trust. It reminds you of God’s worthiness, regardless of the outcome. Meanwhile, as you trust God this way, the word of God shall surely find fulfilment in your life:
Proverbs 23:18 For surely there is an end, and your expectation shall not be cut off.
Trust in the Lord. Follow Him. In this new season, you shall experience a new glory in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
