IT is another day of the Lord; a good day to rejoice with the people of God and to join other children of God to worship our Creator. As we step into this new week, let us do so expressing gratitude to the good Lord who has kept us and blessed us. And despite widespread anxieties over the state of the nation (especially the economy), let us start proclaiming by faith the commencement of a new and better season—for us individually, for our families, and for our nation.
There is a progression of prophecy in the following passages of the Bible, which is quite relevant today:
Job 14:7: For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
Isaiah 61:4-7 And they shall rebuild the old ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations. Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the foreigner shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. But you shall be named the priests of the Lord, they shall call you the servants of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, And in their glory you shall boast. Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, and instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore, in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs.
Haggai 2:9 ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the LORD of hosts.”
It is true that national economic adversity might have caused setbacks for many people. Due to no fault of yours, things might have gone awry or your fortunes nosedived. The recent economic recession might have caused sudden poverty. In fact, calamities of various sorts might have led to acute losses—both material and non-material. However, none of these can keep the believer down when the restoration power of God goes to work on his/her behalf. That power restores, not just the status quo ante, but something better and greater than it.
In other words, God makes your case to become a case of “draw back to leap”. Like a bullet in a loaded rifle that is pulled back with the trigger, you shall now be released with power to proceed at great speed and uncommon trajectory.
Therefore, be confident that a new season that is greater than the best you have ever seen (whether in good time or bad) is coming.
Those who have suffered loss shall begin to enjoy a season of great profit.
Those who have been written off shall sprout and shine again.
Those who have succeeded before shall graduate to higher levels of success.
Everyone shall experience glory that is much greater than the former.
Everyone shall enjoy a new, much better season, in Jesus’ name.
