New party logo: Osun NNPP dissociates from South West PRO

On Tuesday, the Osun State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) rejected the position of the party’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) in the South West, Mr Kilamuwaye Badmus, on the new logo approved by its National Executive Council (NEC).

The National Executive Council of the NNPP, during their last congress in Abuja, introduced a new logo for the party.

However, Kilamuwaye, in a press statement, faulted the plan to change the NNPP’s logo, insisting it was an overnight move, which is not acceptable to the members of the party in the South West.

He further argued that the plan to change the logo was not officially communicated to the members to seek their opinion, stressing that it cannot stand the test of time.

But while reacting to the development, Osun NNPP, through its publicity secretary, Comrade Bolaji Akinyode, disclosed that due process was followed before the endorsement of the new logo, saying the party backed the decision of its national leadership.

Akinyode also stressed that there is no iota of truth in the insinuation that former Minister of Defence and erstwhile deputy governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, was scheming to hijack the party structure by announcing the trade mark of Kwankwasiyya colour.

He affirmed that Kwankwaso remains a patriotic member of the NNPP and is committed to the growth, unity, and cohesion of the party in the country.

Akinyode added that Governor Abba Yusuff of Kano is the party’s selling point and deserves no distraction, pointing out that every hand must be on deck to ensure the success of his administration in fostering the socioeconomic development of the state.

He, however, assured the masses in Osun State to keep hope alive, expressing optimism that the NNPP is set to take over governance from the present Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led state government by 2026.
