New Kebbi CP visits NUJ members in courtesy call

The newly posted Commissioner of Police (CP) to Kebbi State Police Command, Mr Christopher Aimionowane, on Tuesday in Birnin-Kabbi, the State Capital, paid a courtesy visit to members of the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

In his short but very impressive speech, the Commissioner of Police seeks a harmonious relationship with the State Council of the NUJ, describing them as critical stakeholders in curtailing all forms of criminality across the state.

He used the visit to warn criminals to stay clear of Kebbi State, pointing out that the command is more ready than before to give them their noses anywhere they are in the state.

Mr Aimionowane urged the men of the fourth estate of the realm to feel free to come forward to him for any assistance that may be needed while performing their reportage.

While welcoming the Police Commissioner, the NUJ Chairman, Alhaji Garba Muhammad Yeldu, expressed gratitude for the CP’s decision to visit his members, saying that the Kebbi State NUJ and the State Police Command have been having a cordial working relationship.

Yeldu assured the CP of the State NUJ of continuous synergy and harmonious working relationships, which he hopes will create a conducive atmosphere between the police and the gentlemen of the press in the conduct of their daily assignments.
