The Special Adviser to the Governor on Networking, Onwuzuruike Chantel Adanna Chinyere, has said that the Assumpta flyover project would go a long way in enhancing socio-economic development in Imo.
This is as Imolites are set to behold a new flyover in the state.
She described it as heartwarming that the control post that is a gateway to Owerri, capital of Imo state, is now wearing an appreciable look far from what it used to be.
While the illegal parks, street hawking/trading, menace of touts, intractable vehicular gridlocks, that were traditionally the trademarks of the area, have disappeared for good.

The SA in a chat with the Nigerian Tribune in Owerri on Monday said that the state-of-the-art flyover, which is well apportioned and professionally constructed, has now adorned the area with sidewalks and walkways to the admiration of all well-meaning people of the society.
She pointed out that the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Center ( EIICC), standing majestically a few meters away from the flyover at the Orlu road by Bank Road junction, is a sight to behold.
She assured that the ICC will certainly complement the flyover, thereby eliminating the hitherto unconducive and unfriendly environmental activities that used to thrive on that road.
Miss Adanna commended Governor Hope Uzodinma for embarking on these projects to prove some jaundiced and myopic critics who have cast aspersions and misgivings on the projects wrong.
She expressed joy that these projects are not only completed with the most enduring engineering technology standards, but are also anxiously awaiting commissioning by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
She said: “These development which has proved the career critics wrong, one can no less agree with the statement by the late sage, former president of Nigeria Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, that’ history will vindicate the just’. suffice it to say that the Imo state Governor Senator Uzodinma ( Onwaoyoko) has been vindicated by excellently delivering on the projects”.
She recalled the Owerri-Orlu road, Owerri-Okigwe road, and Owerri-Egbu-Emukuku-Mbaise-Obowu-Umuahia, a major carriage road which, according to her, gave Imolites and the road users nightmares for over two decades, but has been solidly completed for usage by Governor Uzodinma within five years.
She said: “here is besides other Owerri in land and rural roads, too numerous to mention built by Governor Uzodinma”.
The Special Adviser on Networking assured that before the exit of Governor Hope Uzodimma from office, he would have executed his urban renewal plans, as well as the development of rural roads, all aimed at making Imo state a one-city state.
She said: “If the former governments that ruled the state for twenty one years had accomplished even half of what Governor Uzodimma had achieved in less than five years, Imo state Infrastructurally would have been paradise on earth.”
Adanna advised successive governments to leverage on the outstanding performance of Governor Hope Uzodinma to take Imo state to the next level, Infrastructurally and otherwise, for the betterment of mankind.
