NESA has announced that its Virtual Care Platform is now the first inpatient virtual care solution to be officially listed in Epic’s Toolbox.
This means the platform has been tested and approved by Epic to meet its standards for inpatient integration and functionality.
The Toolbox designation highlights NESA’s ability to provide virtual care directly within the Epic EHR, making it easier for healthcare teams to work without switching between systems. The platform supports a wide range of workflows for patients of all ages, helping clinicians see patients more clearly, coordinate care, and improve the overall care process.
NESA’s platform is already in use across North America and Europe, with plans for further expansion.
“This journey started in 2020 when NESA first started working with Epic. Through our close collaboration, NESA is fulfilling our commitment to meet clinicians where they are,” said Neil Salem, CEO of NESA.
“We’re proud to help healthcare systems deliver better, more efficient, effective, and connected care for both patients and providers within the Epic eco-system.”
Key features include: Epic ECAL/CAL Integration: Meets Epic’s Embedded Context-Aware Linking and Context-Aware Linking standards.
Embedded in Epic: Works with Epic Hyperspace, MyChart, Rover, Canto, and Haiku, allowing one-click access to virtual care sessions.
MyChart Bedside TV Integration: Lets patients access their records and communicate with care teams from their bedside.
AI-Enabled Virtual Care: Supports two-way audio and video, ambient listening, computer vision, and analytics.
Multi-Participant Sessions: Allows up to six people care teams, patients, and family members to join virtually.
Enterprise-Grade Hardware: Includes dual camera systems with zoom, night vision, HD voice, and noise suppression.
Flexible Setup Options: Available as in-room, wall-mounted, or mobile units.
Unlike some virtual care models that require multiple systems, NESA offers a single interface for consults, monitoring, and coordination keeping clinicians focused on patient care.
NESA will showcase its platform at the Epic Annual Users Group Meeting in Verona, WI, from August 18-21.
