We need more policemen in South-West

The best that any government can do for the citizenry is to provide adequate security . There are many Nigerians who are uncomfortable with the current security challenges in the country.

The rate at which crimes are being committed across the country, particularly in the South-West, is alarming.

We need more policemen in the South-West.

It is sad that some of the policemen who are expected to protect the lives of Nigerians have been attached to our politicians. Hundreds of people in the South-West have lost their lives to armed robbers. Property worth millions of naira have been stolen.

What people have been saying about the current security challenges is that the government should do everything within its powers to provide jobs for unemployed youths.

However, the Federal Government should be extremely careful in trying to recruit more policemen. This is necessary so that criminals will not get enlisted into police force.

I also want to urge the government to provide sophisticated weapons and communication gadgets to our policemen so that it will be easy for them to arrest armed robbers. I am of the opinion that policemen who are well equipped will not be afraid to repel armed robbers.

Some foreign investors are afraid of coming to this country because of the security challenges. Things need to change.
