The Director General of National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Mallam Nuhu Fikpo, has said that the NDE is gender sensitive and has a special branch designated for women related programmes and activities.
The director general of the NDE said this through the Ondo State coordinator of NDE, Mr O.M. Adelodun, during the flag off / orientation of tie and dye making scheme in Akure.
The tie and dye scheme under the Small Scale Enterprise department is an idea conceived by the directorate to train women in the country on how to be self-employed so that the menace of poverty could be dealt with.
‘’Impartation of knowledge to trainee is a tool adopted over the years to combat the challenges of unemployment and poverty in the land
‘’This scheme is with an objective of training our women on how to turn ordinary clothing materials to colorful designs that could be worn to places of national interest and other purposeful events
‘’The NDE has since its inception saddled with the responsibility of tackling the problems of unemployment in the country of which the making of tie and dye was not left out
‘’You are kindly advised to be prompt and regular during the training period,’’ he said.
