NDE trains 2,425 women, youths on cosmetology, others in Zamfara

THE National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has trained 1,697 women in cosmetology in Zamfara, the state NDE Coordinator, Malam Muhammad Alhassan, has disclosed.

Alhassan in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gusau on Wednesday said the Directorate was also training 728 youths and women from the state in various vocational skills.

He said that out of the 76,400 youths and women proposed to be trained by the NDE across the country under its Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (B-NOAS), 2,425 slots were allocated to Zamfara.

“Out of the slots given to the state, we trained 1,697 women in January this year in cosmetology and skills such as soap making, liquid soap, shampoo, air freshener, disinfectants and pomade; this number makes up the first batch.

“We will continue the training of the second batch of 728 youth and women trainees in various skills such as computer appreciation, GSM repairs, knitting, bicycle repairs and vulcanizing.

“The training started in January and it will end in March and all the trainees are been provided with the transport allowances he said.

According to him, the management of NDE, under the leadership of Dr Nasir Muhammad, is working towards the achievement of the Federal Government policy of employment creation and poverty reduction.
