National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Niger State has begun the training scheme for 100 beneficiaries of the Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS) who are to be empowered to be self-reliant in parts of the state.
The SADTS is a deliberate policy by the NDE directorate geared toward empowering the beneficiaries to be self-reliant and to boost food security in Niger State.
Director-General of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, stated this while declaring the training open at the flag-off ceremony of the training in Minna.
He added that the participants from the 25 local government areas of the state were of two sets and they include those who are to be equipped in agricultural sector businesses and those given NDE starter packs last year.
Represented by the Niger State NDE Coordinator, Malam Abdulmalik Liman, who explained that the beneficiaries are to be trained in modern agricultural activities in two aspects of market garden and poultry farming, adding that they would be given loans to enable them to start their businesses while noting that 38 persons got N100,000 loan each last year.
