The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Zamfara state office has flagged off a 5-day training program for 20 selected women in cosmetology in the state.
The Director-General of the NDE, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, addressed the beneficiaries on Wednesday during the flag-off training in Gusau, expressing that the training aims to empower the women to become self-employed and employers of labor in the state.
He explained that the training is part of the NDE’s programs designed to create job opportunities for unemployed Nigerians, with the goal of reducing unemployment and improving the social and economic standards of the people.
The DG NDE, represented by the Zamfara state coordinator Khadija Hamza Kolo, stated that the NDE, under its Women Empowerment Branch (WEB) of the small-scale enterprise, is determined to change the lives of women through training in skills acquisition for self-reliance.
Khadija Hamza Kolo advised the beneficiaries to be punctual and ensure they acquire the necessary skills to become experts in the near future, as the NDE has assured to provide a startup loan of N20,000 to each trainee after the 5-day training in the state.
“I urge you to listen, learn, acquire knowledge and skills, be dedicated, and become employers of labor,” she advised.
