NDDC inspects failed roads in Delta, says APC’ll deliver change

THE Executive Director of Projects, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Engr Samuel Adjogbe, has said the commission is doing its best to intervene in projects that have the direct impact on the people.

He added that the NNDC is geared towards making the effective change the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government has promised Nigerians.

Engr. Adjogbe said these weekend while addressing journalists during the inspection of failed sections of Gana – Ugberikoko road in Sapele, which is under rehabilitation.

He said he was impressed with the level of work done by the contractors.

“We will continue to do our best; when APC came on board, we promised change and that is what we are trying our best to do.

“The NDDC was set up to intervene in some of the areas the government ordinarily would not have expected to reach, but because it’s a regional commission, we understand the plight more than anybody.

“This road leading to NPDC/SEPLAT flow station was identified and we have to fix it.

“We have been able to fix some other roads like the one we commissioned at Ojolu area of Sapele last year,” he said.

Engr Adjogbe, however, urged the people of Sapele to continue to support the APC-led government to enjoy more dividends of the party’s change mantra.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Sapele Okpe Community, Mr Patrick Akamuvba and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Ward 8 Councillor, Hon. Ovo Abeke has commended NDDC for a job well done.

They said since the repairs began, businesses in the area are gradually picking up again.

Nigerian Tribune reports that the failed sections of Gana – Ugberikoko road, is a 10-kilometre road and is being executed by Amu Global Venture Ltd, Kamillions Nigeria Ltd, Collins crystal Energy Ltd and Rising Heights Nigeria Ltd, with each allocated about 2.5 km.
