NCPC boss condemns Plateau attack, calls for justice

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, along with the Commission’s Board members, has strongly condemned the recent attacks on innocent communities in the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State by unidentified gunmen.

In a statement released recently, Bishop Adegbite expressed his deep sadness over these developments, particularly at a time when efforts are being made to ensure peace in our communities.

He extended his condolences to the Chairman of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rt. Rev. Prof. Cletus Gotan, a distinguished son of the state, regarding this heinous crime against humanity.

Bishop Adegbite described the actions of the unknown gunmen as cowardly and reprehensible, especially during the Lenten season when Christians are in a period of reflection and sacrifice. He lamented the significant loss of lives and the displacement of residents resulting from these attacks.

The Bishop commended the Federal Government for promptly directing the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to release and distribute relief materials to the affected communities. He also expressed sympathy for the Plateau State Government and Governor Caleb Mutfwang during this unfortunate incident.

Furthermore, Bishop Adegbite urged the affected communities to cooperate with authorities and security agencies by providing information that could help apprehend the perpetrators and ensure the safety of the communities.

He emphasized that security agencies must not rest until those responsible for these attacks are brought to justice.
