The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has released its Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Price Watch for July 2025, highlighting the states where Nigerians paid the most for cooking gas.
According to the report published on Tuesday via X, the average retail price of refilling a 12.5kg cylinder dropped to N20,609.48 in July, compared to N21,010.56 in June, representing a 1.91% decrease.
Below are the states with the highest 5kg cooking gas prices in July 2025
1. Adamawa — N9,011.36
2. Rivers — N9,005.00
3. Taraba — N8,945.43
4. Bayelsa — N8,905.00
5. Cross River — N8,806.00
The NBS noted that Adamawa, Rivers, and Taraba topped the list for the 5kg cylinder. It also observed that Delta and Cross River were among the states with the highest overall prices across other cylinder sizes.
In contrast, states such as Katsina, Ogun, and Abuja recorded the lowest average prices, offering some relief to residents despite the nationwide surge in cooking gas costs.
