NAUTH radio-diagnostic center will curb medical tourism – CMD

The Chief Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Prof. Joseph Ugboaja, has expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated Radio Diagnostic Center will help curb medical tourism in Southeastern Nigeria.

Speaking during a grand reception for the new NAUTH Board Chairman, Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, at the hospital’s permanent site on Thursday, Ugboaja described the multi-billion-naira facility as a testament to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to the Southeast.

“The establishment of this regional Radio-Diagnostic Center is a clear demonstration of Mr. President’s love for Ndi Igbo and the people of the Southeast,” he said, appreciating Tinubu and the Coordinating Minister of Health & Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammadu Ali Pate, for their support.

He further stated that once the ongoing 2000-bed capacity project and other initiatives are completed, NAUTH would become the largest and most advanced hospital in Nigeria.

In his remarks, the newly appointed NAUTH Board Chairman, Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, assured staff, management, and students of his commitment to their welfare, well-being, and motivation.

“As I take up this new role, my priority is to ensure the welfare, well-being, and motivation of NAUTH’s management, staff, and students,” Dalori pledged.
