The Nigeria Association of Tour Operators (NATOP) has taken a significant step towards promoting professionalism and credibility in the tourism industry with the launch of a new identity card (ID card).
This innovative card features a unique code, ISO number, and barcode that can be scanned to verify members’ authenticity, aiming to eliminate quackery and fraudulent activities in the sector.
NATOP’s National President, Hajia Bolaji Mustapha, emphasised the importance of regulation and standardisation in the industry, highlighting cases of unscrupulous individuals duping unsuspecting members of the public.
The new ID card is designed to build trust among stakeholders, enhance credibility, and promote excellence in the tourism sector.
By introducing this new ID card, NATOP is working to ensure that only genuine tour operators are recognised, and the public can confidently engage with reputable tourism service providers.
This development is expected to have a positive impact on the industry, promoting a safer and more reliable tourism experience for Nigerians and international visitors alike.
