Federal Government, on Wednesday, launched the National Youth Dialogue, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering young Nigerians and fostering patriotism among the youth.
Minister of State for Youth Development, Mr Ayodele Olawande, who made the announcement in Abuja, said the initiative has five major thematic projects to achieve its goals of promoting patriotism and unity, enhancing entrepreneurial capacity, and supporting policy development.
These projects will be deployed across Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and are designed to create lasting impact at both the local and national levels.
Here are the five (5) key components of the initiative as outlined by TRIBUNE ONLINE:
1. National Youth Advocacy Network: A platform to amplify youth concerns, aspirations, and ideas, ensuring their voices are heard and valued in the policy-making process.
2. National Youth Oversight Commission: A commission to manage monitoring and evaluation of information and data across government programs and projects, fostering transparency, accountability, and good governance.
3. Youth Integrated Mobile Waste Management Systems: A project to address waste management issues, involving youth in developing innovative solutions and creating employment opportunities.
4. National Youth Electoral Grievance Redress Commission: A platform to address electoral grievances, promoting fair and transparent elections, reducing post-election conflicts, and promoting peace and stability.
5. National Youth Regional Development Commission: A project focusing on socio-economic, environmental, and political development across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones, with each zone addressing specific areas of development.
