
THE current killings in most parts of the country have been described as a plot to detract the Buhari led – Federal Government of Nigeria from providing good governance to the populace.
To this end, a Non -Governmental organization known as Unity Peace Initiative for the Survival of the Society has warned that those it called detractors should allow President Muhammadu Buhari administration to impact positively on the lives of Nigerians.
According to the National convener of the body who spoke with journalists in Awka, Anambra State Capital, Dr Ugochukwu Okafor said,“we commensurate with the relatives of the victims that were killed in Benue, Plateau, Rivers
and Taraba States who lost their relatives in that dastardly and ungodly act and pray for the repose of their late relatives.”
“But it is imperative to note that the killings were politically motivated to act as distraction on the part of the Buhari’s
administration which has shown zero tolerance for corruption and terrorism.”
Continuing, Okafor noted that “some people are not comfortable with the position of Buhari’s administration in the area of fighting corruption hence they have chosen to make our country ungovernable.”
“It is a known fact that Mr President has shown unflinching determination in fighting terror and the protection of lives and property in the country and those who are enemies of change, democracy and good governance are neck deep in ensuring that the old order remains.”
The body, however, urged Nigerians not to be dismayed by the recent killings in the country, adding that President Buhari cannot be could by the machination of detractors and enemies of good governance.
“Mr President should be allowed to perform his functions to the best of his ability and for the good of Nigerians. We urge our fellow Nigerians not to be enemies of good governance and we also wish to reiterate that the general public should discountenance the activities of certain elements whose stock in trade is to destabilize and balkanize the country to the peril of peace, unity and well being of Nigerians.”
The body urged Buhari not to lose focus in his determined efforts at repositioning the country for sustainable socio-economic growth for the best interest of a common man.
