THE seventh biennial conference of the Nasrul lahil l Fatih Society (NASFAT) has kicked off in London.
The conference, which started on Thursday and will end on Sunday, is being hosted by the organisation’s United Kingdom and Ireland zone.
In a statement, the NASFAT president, Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid Abdul Rauf, stated that, as a responsive and responsible global Islamic organisation, the choice of UK and Ireland zone for the conference was strategic and it was specifically aimed at positioning the organisation as a strong voice in addressing the global economic crises, conflicts and environmental problems ravaging the whole world.
According to Alhaji Abdul Rauf, the conference is “equally aimed at forging a cohesive Society where members in Nigeria and those in the Diaspora are able to synergise towards the attainment of the aims and objectives of the society.”
He said the conference was originally scheduled for 2021 but was shifted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic which engulfed the universe.
The opening ceremony of the four-day conference holds today at Kent Hill Park Training and Conference Centre, Milton Keynes, UK.
The opening address will be delivered by the NASFAT president, Alhaji Abdul Rauf.
Expected at the opening ceremony, where lectures to be delivered by renowned scholars and notable resource persons drawn from Nigeria and abroad, are delegates from various zones and branches across all the formations of the organisation.
