Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has petitioned the Real Estate Developer Association of Nigeria (REDAN) over the delayed refund by one of its members to its aggrieved housing scheme subscribers.

According to Dr. Osundara Tope, the President of NARD, and Dr. Odunbanku Kazeem Oluwashola, the Secretary General, the association had submitted evidence of payment to Bob Daniel Nigeria Limited, owned by Mr. Daniel Orji, over three weeks ago, but he has yet to refund the money as agreed.

“Instead of paying the money as agreed by all parties involved, Mr. Orji has decided to play another trick, one of many he has done in the past, to deflect prompt payment of the said money. Mr Orji is catty and cunninngly shrewd in his business with us,” Dr Tope and Dr Oluwashola said in a statement.

The NARD leaders noted that Mr. Orji has not denied collecting money from their members and has failed to deliver on the agreement reached over four years ago.

“He requested evidence of payment, which was forwarded to him with a promise of payment 3weeks ago.

He defaulted, and all means of amicably resolving it have been met with failed promises. This is his usual stock in trade,” they added.

The association expressed disappointment that, despite the intervention of REDAN, Mr. Orji has shown an unwillingness to participate in a peaceful resolution and

“We have been calming the nerves of our aggrieved members with the hope of quick resolution through the intervention of REDAN. However, it is evident now that Mr. Orji is an unwilling participant in this peaceful pact,” the statement read.

NARD has therefore called on REDAN to ensure that Mr. Orji maintains the utmost professionalism, integrity, trust, and accountability within the shortest possible time.

“We call on your body to call on Mr. Orji to maintain the utmost professionalism, integrity, trust, and accountability within the shortest possible time of the next 3days,” the association urged.

Dr Osundara also mentioned that all attempts to get EFCC to investigate the matter have been abortive, alleging that Mr Orji also has those working with him within the police hierarchy.
