Making this known in a statement signed by NAPS Senate president, Senator Adeniji Boluwaji Temitope,a copy made available on Sunday to press in Kano.

The statement reads, “The Senate Arm of NAPS, is hereby calling on all affected students and citizens to prepare ahead of this mother of all protest against Segilola operating resources company in Ilesa.”

According to him, NAPS Senate frowns at the operations of Segilola Operating Resource Limited iperindo over allegedly not been friendly to the students community, the lackadaisical attitude towards the host community, air and water pollution which is becoming unbearable in the community,

Boluwaji therefore stated that “The lives of the citizens of the host community where some of our students reside is no longer safe.

“We are calling on Federal Government and Osun State Government to stop the operation of Segilola for now until the right is done, the lives of the host community is very important to the nation.

“The welfare and good health of the citizens of the host community should be a priority of any organisation and the government.

“We are asking for a stop in the operation of Segilola now or the students will mobilise in thousands to lock the gate of Segilola on the 11th October 2024.

“The welfare of Nigerian polytechnic students is our priority.”
