Ogunsanya said: “We also use this medium to raise awareness about the security challenges that institutions face.

He said: “We organised the Lagos Students Security Summit last year, facilitated the distribution of Sienna buses to all student unions in the state, and collaborated with YCMA to train our student leaders in the state. “The leadership is pleased with the increase in budget for education in Lagos state, as well as His Excellency Gov. Babjide Sanwo-Olu’s ongoing efforts through the Office of Special Adviser on Education Mr Tokunbo Wahab, which have seen institutions in the state compete with other institutions in Nigeria and around the world.
“We urge the state government to consider merging Lagos State College of Health Technology, School of Nursing, and Lagos State Teaching Hospital to form Lagos State University of Medical Science, in light of the current administration’s efforts to elevate MOCPED, AOCOED, and LASPOTECH to be recognised as degree-awarding institutions.
“We are grateful to the management of all institutions in Lagos for allowing Students Unionism to thrive, particularly the management of Yabatech for resurrecting the Students Union, and we appeal to the management of the University of Lagos to think in this direction.
“After careful consideration of the performance, Mr Governor, we are ready to continue constructing a peaceful environment in which your administration can operate.”
