Former minister of Communication and digital economy, Isa Ali Pantami has confirmed that his friend has volunteered to pay N50m out of the N60m ransom requested by abductors of Najeeba and her sisters.
Pantami revealed this development on his X account (formerly Twitter) on Sunday after some well-meaning Nigerians on social media made efforts to raise funds for the requested ransom.
Recall that Nabeeha and five of her sisters were kidnapped on the 2nd of January, 2024 in their house in Bwari, Abuja.
The ex-minister’s tweet reads:
Alhamdu lil Laah!
I am personally not in support of paying ransom to criminals. However, since it becomes clear, we lost our daughter Nabeeha yesterday, and the 5 remaining daughters have been threatened, as I spoke with the father on the matter yesterday and today.…
