NAFDAC cracks down on illegal “miracle” products

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has launched a comprehensive investigation into Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries, a faith-based organization accused of producing and selling unregistered and unwholesome “miracle” products.

The products, which include “Miracle Water” and “Miracle Soap,” are marketed with healing claims and sold to unsuspecting members of the public. NAFDAC’s investigation was triggered by petitions from concerned citizens, revealing a concerning trend of illegal production and sale of unregulated items.

NAFDAC’s Director General, Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, has warned the public to stop patronizing these products, emphasizing that they are not scientifically proven and may pose health risks.

It was also uncovered that Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries has falsely claimed its products were registered with NAFDAC, deceiving the public and violating the agency’s regulations. This misuse of NAFDAC’s name is a serious breach, threatening public health.

As part of the investigation, NAFDAC has sealed the factory of Globod Table Water, allegedly involved in producing the “Miracle Water” product. The agency plans to continue its investigation into the activities of Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries and take appropriate regulatory actions.

This crackdown aligns with NAFDAC’s ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and efficacy of products available in the Nigerian market. The agency remains dedicated to protecting public health by removing unregistered and harmful products.

NAFDAC reminds consumers that unregulated products can be dangerous, leading to serious health complications or even death. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious products to the agency and purchase only from reputable sources.

In addition to this investigation, NAFDAC is conducting a nationwide surveillance to remove all unregistered and unwholesome products from the market. The agency is collaborating with other regulatory bodies and law enforcement to achieve this goal.

NAFDAC’s crackdown on illegal “miracle” products is a critical step in safeguarding public health. The agency remains committed to protecting consumers from harmful products and urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
