The National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM), an agency of the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology (FMIST), will host a one-day sensitisation workshop and stakeholder engagement focused on Nigeria’s STI Indicator Dashboard to aid data-driven decision-making.
The event scheduled for Friday, November 1st, 2024, at the Cyprian Ekwensi Centre for Arts and Culture Complex, Abuja, according to the Director General/CEO, NACETEM, Dr. Olusola Odusanya, aimed to provide an advocacy platform for stakeholders regarding the Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Indicator Dashboard Version 1.0, developed by NACETEM for Nigeria, while adding that the version 1.0 is an advanced dashboard compared with the 2023 version.
Dr Odusanya said invitations have been extended to agencies such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Abuja Investment Company Limited, and others, and participants are expected to learn how to use the dashboard to monitor the STI ecosystem and provide feedback to aid improvement.
“Participants will learn how to effectively use the dashboard and its relevance to comprehensive monitoring of the STI ecosystem while providing valuable feedback on potential areas for improvement in attaining predictive analytics.
“Invitations have been extended to various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) as well as organisations from both the public and private sectors, including the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology, the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria, Abuja Investment Company Limited, the Corporate Affairs Commission, the Federal Character Commission, the Nigeria Customs Service, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,” Dr Odusanya told Tribune Online in Abuja.
Tribune Online reports that NACETEM serves as a training centre for the development of high-level manpower in science, technology, and innovation (STI) management for all tiers of government and the private sector.
