Nigeria’s content creator and TikToker, Clinton Monday Ovuakporaye, has revealed that apart from the motivational support he receives from his family members, he also gets content ideas from his siblings.
He made this known during a get-together event in Lagos to celebrate the beginning of the new year, stating, “Family has been incredibly supportive. They were skeptical at first, but as they saw my passion and the positive feedback I received, they became my biggest fans. My siblings even help me brainstorm ideas for skits sometimes.”
Popularly known as Clintianoo, the TikToker disclosed that he decided to put his education on hold after completing his SSCE in 2020 to take advantage of the booming digital space.
“I’ve always been drawn to the idea of entertaining people. After finishing my SSCE, I realized that the digital space was booming, and TikTok offered a platform where I could share my passion for dance and comedy. It felt like the perfect opportunity to build something unique, so I decided to take the leap,” he said.
Although born and raised in Lagos, Clintianoo emphasized his connection to Isoko, Delta State, his place of origin. He said, “I try to incorporate elements of my culture into my skits—sometimes through language, characters, or storylines. It’s a way of celebrating where I come from while introducing my audience to something unique.”
Speaking on the advantages Lagos offers over other cities in Nigeria, he highlighted the city’s energy, diversity, and hustle as key factors that taught him resilience and adaptability. He said, “I was exposed to so many different cultures, which sparked my creativity and gave me endless material for my skits. Lagos taught me to dream big and work hard.”
With over three million followers on TikTok, Clintianoo acknowledged that social media fame comes with its challenges, including dealing with negativity. However, he noted that focusing more on the positive has helped him achieve so much.
He also disclosed his plans to return to school one day to pursue a degree in business management or marketing. “Both fields align with my interests and could help me grow as a creator and entrepreneur,” he said.
