A member of the House of Representatives representing Lavun, Edati and Mokwa Federal Constituency of Niger State on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Joshua Gana has described his appointment by the Speaker of the House of Representatives as a Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Power as a boost to raise the living standard of his constituents through cottage Industries.
Gana, who is the eldest son to former Minister, Professor Jerry Gana, stated this shortly after his nomination, just as he expressed appreciation to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas who he said, deemed it fit to appoint him as the Deputy Chairman of the committee on power, adding that it was an indication that Abbas is a leader devoid of acrimony.
According to Gana, “The Speaker has no doubt vindicated himself that his leadership is beyond the usual political wranglings which hitherto brought the country to stagnation due to lack of cohesion amongst the key players.”
Speaking further, he said, Abbas is the man to take the present 10th Assembly to envious heights.
Gana pointed out that part of his nine points agenda is to galvanise his three constituencies for them to be self-reliant with the acquisition of skills through viable projects.
Meanwhile, a statement from the Media office of Hon Joshua Gana, said his appointment as Deputy Chairman House Committee on Power is due to Gana’s dedication and expertise in the field of Power and Energy.
According to the statement, Gana has consistently demonstrated his ability to serve the interest of the people by advancing critical issues on Power generation, distribution and sustainability.
It added further that it is an opportunity for Gana to explore his experience and vision to perfect the crucial mandates and make significant strides in the power sector by addressing the nation’s energy challenges in ensuring uninterrupted power supply for Nigerians.
