Delta State-born music artist, Chief Fruitful Mekwunye, popularly known as Professor, has completed work on his first album.

Professor, who has kept a low profile on his career for long as a result of some challenges is set to take the industry by storm.

“Music is inborn, when you have the talent, it is either you actualise it early or later. I was supposed to have actualised mine in my early age, but in those days, some saw musicians’ as hopeless and jobless people and even lazy people. You rarely could see talent hunts like we have today. So, most of the dreams were buried.

“I had the zeal to release and play music, but there was no one to help so, I had to look for menial jobs to sustain me. But, what I believe is that, a dream is not dead until you are dead. That is what I have proven now,” he stated.

Professor has now produced his debut album entitled: Ogo Oluwa (Glory of God). The four-track album is produced by Juju singer, Yinka Best. It has a Yoruba highlife tilt aimed at making family stronger. The other tracks include Bed of Roses, Africa.

The artiste, who is also the Ekwueme of Ubulu Uku kingdom in Delta State, successful businessman and philanthropist, says his kind of music is universal.

“My primary objective is to produce songs with messages that are also free flowing, so that Nigerians and the world can enjoy it,” he said.
