Muslims across Nigeria have been encouraged to strengthen their spiritual resolve in the face of the country’s economic challenges.

This call was made by Hajia Taofeeqa Aderoju Fagbolade, President of the women’s wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria (Lajna Imaillah), during the recent 3-day annual convention held at Mahmud Ahmadiyya College, Abule Eko Ljede, Lagos State.

The convention, themed “Tawakkul and Sabr’: Spiritual Strength in the Face of Economic Adversity,” gathered over 5,000 Ahmadi women from across the nation.

Fagbolade urged participants to rise above socio-economic struggles by harnessing their inner strength and supporting each other as a community.

Regional host Hajia Shakira Akinpelu emphasized the importance of Tawakkul—patience and perseverance. She encouraged attendees to maintain deep trust in Allah and practice patience to navigate financial challenges with faith, hope, and determination.

“As we face difficult circumstances, our relationship with Allah must remain constant,” Akinpelu said. “With every hardship, Allah promises ease. The light at the end of the tunnel is not an illusion—the tunnel is!”

Akinpelu highlighted that Islam teaches that trials are temporary and should be met with efforts to purify oneself and nourish the soul. “Allah provides the means to seek relief and achieve success,” she added.

The convention featured various activities, including a peace walk with participants in colorful modest attire, Quranic and Hadith competitions, sporting events, and Academic Merit Awards for excellence.
