A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and renowned security expert, Mr. Abayomi Nurain Mumuni, has lauded the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, for his loyalty, leadership, accessibility and accountability as he marks his 60th birthday.
Mumuni gave the commendation in a statement issued on Sunday through his media aide, Rasheed Abubakar, to commemorate Dare’s diamond jubilee and the launch of his book, ‘One Thousand and Ninety-Five Days’.
The APC stalwart described Dare as a loyal, dependable and compassionate public servant whose friendship, commitment to people and dedication to service have remained steadfast over the decades.
The celebration, held on Saturday in Abuja, attracted prominent Nigerians from political, media and business circles who gathered to honour the former Minister of Youth and Sports Development.
Reflecting on their long-standing relationship, Mumuni said his bond with Dare spans several decades and is rooted in mutual trust and respect.
“Having to do with my relationship with Sunday Dare, basically it has been a decades-long relationship, not an overnight brotherhood,” he said.

Mumuni praised Dare’s unwavering loyalty to President Tinubu, noting that their association dates back to the political days of Bourdillon in Lagos.
“Apart from his loyalty to Mr President from our days of Bourdillon till date, Sunday Dare has always been wonderful and somebody one can rely upon without losing your sleep,” he stated.
He also highlighted Dare’s humility and accessibility despite occupying high public offices.
“One thing about Sunday Dare is that he will never ignore your calls for any reason, even during his service as Honourable Minister. He’s someone who will always check on you randomly, either by calling or even driving by my house,” he added.
Mumuni described Dare as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished media and public communication strategists.
According to him, before his appointment as presidential adviser, Dare served as Minister of Youth and Sports Development, where he spearheaded reforms that enhanced athlete welfare, strengthened sports infrastructure and expanded youth empowerment initiatives across the country.
He noted that Dare also distinguished himself as a seasoned journalist and administrator, having served as Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) before his ministerial appointment.
Mumuni observed that beyond public service, the Ogbomoso-born statesman holds the traditional titles of Agbaakin of Ogbomosoland and Sarkin Wasanni Hausaland, reflecting his contributions to community development, national integration and the advancement of sports.
The launch of ‘One Thousand and Ninety-Five Days’ was one of the major highlights of the evening. The book chronicles Dare’s experiences, challenges and achievements during his three-year tenure as Minister of Youth and Sports Development, offering valuable insights into governance, sports administration and public service.
Mumuni prayed for continued good health, wisdom and greater accomplishments for the presidential aide as he begins a new chapter at 60.
