The Magistrate, Mr Banji Ayeomoni, who gave the ruling, also granted the accused a surety in like sum who must show evidence of tax payment.
Ovie, whose address is unknown, had pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge of dangerous riding, riding without licence as well as riding an unregistered motorcycle on the highway.
The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Zedekiah Orogbemi, had earlier told the court that the accused on March 22 at 2.00 p.m. on Okitipupa-Irele Road rode an unregistered Qlink motorcycle dangerously.
He said the accused, who had no driver’s licence, hit the complainant, Sarafa Ajibesin, and caused him bodily harm.
The offences contravened Sections 6, 10 (3) and 11 (2) of the Federal Highway Act, Laws of the Federation 2004.
Further hearing has been fixed for April 30.
