REDDINGTON Multi-Specialist Hospital and Iruland, also located in Lagos, will explore collaborative opportunities aimed at providing quality and affordable community-based healthcare for residents of Iruland who have limited access to conventional hospitals due to their socio-economic status or geographical distance.
During a courtesy visit to Reddington Hospital Management, part of the activities commemorating his five years on the throne, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, the Oniru of Iruland in Lagos State, praised the hospital’s state-of-the-art medical technology, skilled specialist doctors, and exceptional patient care.
Oba Lawal, accompanied by his wife, Olori Mariam, and several palace chiefs, expressed his willingness to enter into a partnership agreement with Reddington Hospital and the goal of this collaboration is to establish affordable, high-quality community healthcare in Iruland, addressing the health needs of the kingdom’s residents.

In addition, Oba Lawal advocated for regular medical outreach programmes within his community, with the hospital promising to create a supportive environment, including financial assistance for the initiative.
Explaining what he referred to as the brain circulation, the monarch praised the Reddington Hospital Group for its policy of attracting highly qualified and experienced Nigerian medical professionals from the diaspora to return home and practice within the group.
He stated that such a policy is necessary to reduce medical tourism among Nigerians and to prevent significant capital flight to hospitals overseas.
The Group Medical Director of Reddington Hospital, Dr Olatunde Lalude, responded to Oba Lawal’s request by stating that the hospital shares the monarch’s passion for providing affordable, quality healthcare to his community.
He expressed the hospital’s willingness to collaborate with the palace to achieve this goal, aligning with the hospital’s mission to deliver accessible, high-quality healthcare to Nigerians.
While welcoming Oba Lawal to the hospital, the Chief Operating Officer of Reddington Hospital, Mr Emmanuel Matthews, stated that the hospital is committed to supporting His Royal Majesty’s “Grow Iruland Together” vision.
