AS part of his transformation of the traditional institutions in the state, Bauchi State governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has approved total renovation and upgrade of palaces of 11 village heads in Dass Local Government Area of the state apart from the ongoing complete renovation of the palace of the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Biyaminu Othman.
The renovation and rehabilitation of the palaces of the first-class emirs and those of district and village heads across the state were in continuous efforts by the Governor Mohammed-led administration to provide conducive working environment and places of abode for traditional rulers in the state.
Receiving a team of engineers on an assessment visit to the village head palaces in the local government ahead of their renovation and upgrade, the council chairman, Mohammed Jibo, commended Governor Mohammed for his efforts in providing traditional rulers in the state with conducive atmosphere to operate and contribute meaningfully to peace and development of the state.
While expressing joy over the governor’s decision to extend the gesture to traditional rulers in in the council, the chairman informed that Mohammed did not hesitate to promptly approve the council’s request to renovate of 11 village head palaces in the area.
This, the chairman said, was apart from the ongoing renovation and remodelling of the palace of the Emir of Dass, which contract was recently awarded by the governor.
Jibo further said that the palaces to be given facelift in the local government area are those of the village heads of Bununu Dass; Wandi; Baraza; Durr and Lukshi.
Others to benefit from the renovation are village head of Zumbul; village head of Polchi; village head of Dott as well as those of Bondot; Bajar and Bagel.
The chairman later took the engineers round the benefiting palaces in the council.
Meanwhile, all the village heads visited applauded Governor Mohammed’s transformation agenda and wished him Allah’s guidance as he effectively pilots the affairs of the state.
