Mobihealth International has partnered with the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN) and the Medical Association of Nigerians Across Great Britain (MANSAG) to expand access to healthcare services in underserved communities across Africa through innovative telehealth solutions.
The founder and CEO of Mobihealth International, Dr Funmi Adewara, made this known on Tuesday through a communiqué seen by Tribune Online.
The partnership is set to transform healthcare delivery by harnessing the power of technology to bridge the healthcare gap in rural and urban communities through teleconsultations, training programmes for healthcare workers, and health awareness campaigns.
The partnership also aims to improve the quality and accessibility of medical care in regions where access to doctors and specialists is limited.
Dr Adewara described Mobihealth as Africa’s first fully integrated telehealth platform offering affordable access to world-class healthcare through a combination of telemedicine, diagnostics, and medications.
The Mobihealth boss stated that they are excited to collaborate with MWAN and MANSAG, which she added are two respected organisations with a shared commitment to improving healthcare outcomes for Nigerians and Africans.
She further stated that by integrating Mobihealth’s cutting-edge telehealth platform with the expertise of MWAN and MANSAG members, they can deliver world-class medical services to patients who need them the most.
Furthermore, according to her, the collaboration will also explore opportunities in telemedicine education and research to further strengthen healthcare systems in Africa.
“The partnership will enable MWAN members to provide teleconsultations, while MANSAG members will contribute expertise from the diaspora, offering specialised medical support and mentoring for healthcare providers on the ground,” she added.
The national president of MWAN, Professor Rosemary Ogu, noted that MWAN is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to improving the health and welfare of Nigerians, especially women and children, through advocacy, education, and service delivery.
Professor Ogu said MWAN is proud to partner with Mobihealth and MANSAG to push the boundaries of healthcare delivery in Africa.
“This partnership aligns with MWAN’s mission to enhance the health and well-being of Nigerians, especially women and children, and we look forward to the positive impact it will have on the broader African community,” she said.
President of MANSAG, Dr Chris Agbo, noted that MANSAG is a charitable organisation that promotes the health and well-being of Nigerians through professional development, medical outreach, and collaboration with healthcare providers in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
The MANSAG president said that the collaboration is poised to address critical health challenges by connecting patients with Nigerian healthcare professionals in the diaspora.
According to him, the collaboration will also support Mobihealth’s ongoing efforts to provide affordable, accessible healthcare services to vulnerable populations through its telehealth platform.
“Together, we can make a significant impact on healthcare delivery,” he added.
