A 21-year-old robbery suspect, on Wednesday, met his Waterloo as he was clubbed and set ablaze by an angry mob in Warri, Delta State.
The incident, it was gathered, occurred at Isoko Quarters in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The suspect, identified as Ese, was accused of being a member of a five-man robbery gang which has been terrorising residents of the area.
Ese, a bus conductor, was said to have snatched a commercial bus belonging to a police officer along Enerhen road in Warri when he was swooped on the angry mob.
Tribune Online gathered that he met his untimely death after he was sighted at a bus stop by the angry mob swiftly descended on him with broken blocks, before drenching him with petrol and set him ablaze.
The jungle justice by the mob is coming after five suspects were last month burnt beyond recognition in Warri and Ughelli.
Chairman of the vigilance group, Warri Unit, Mr Maurice Olise, who condemned the act, said jungle justice should be discouraged in the state.
Meanwhile, seven of the angry youths who carried out the dastardly act have been arrested by the police.
But Delta State police spokesperson, SP Celestina Kalu, could not immediately confirm the arson and the arrest as of the time of filing this report, saying she would get back to this reporter.
