A group of protesters in their thousands early on Wednesday besieged the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami and allegedly fingered two prominent Nigerians to be behind the missing Army General, Major General Idris Alkali(rtd).The Convener of the Group, Oke Nwachukwu said they embark on the protest march to seek justice for their brothers and sisters who have been held under bondage by bloodthirsty anarchists, for the lives that have gone due to ethnic chauvinism driven by self-serving bigots who have vowed that the nation in general and plateau, in particular, sees no peace.
He said, “We the members of the Coalition for Good Governance and Change in Nigeria (CGGCN), wish to call the attention of the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami to the genocidal acts been perpetuated in Plateau State Nigeria.
“This march has become necessary because we cannot continue to watch as defenceless and unarmed women and children are maimed and dismembered on a daily basis by selfish anarchists on the basis of political, ethnic and religious affiliations varying with their paymasters.
“We make bold to say that, the killings in Plateau State is spearheaded by politicians in partnership with traditional rulers with underlining political aggrandizement”, he said.
Nwachukwu said the group had to protest at the Office of the AGF to bring to his attention the urgent need to intervene in the ongoing cannibalism on the Plateau before an ethnic cleansing agenda will be completed.
He said, “It will interest you to know that thousands of women have been made widows as a result of the wanton killings ongoing in Plateau state, just as men have also become widowers with thousands of children also orphaned just to satisfy the wicked motives of a group of people that have arrogated the power of life and death to themselves.
“We are also using this medium to formally announce to the whole world that Plateau State is now a killing field as it stands. What the media is reporting is a mere tip of the iceberg, as the scale of ethnic cleansing is already in the ranks of the Burundi massacre.
” We hereby also categorically state that the recent kidnap and subsequent death of Major General Alkali was a handiwork of these devilish elements and several others who have been murdered silently as uncovered in the recent unearthing of evidence in the lake.
“This action has become very necessary as these devilish instigators of the killings in Plateau state have also succeeded in infiltrating the media in a bid to cover up their heinous acts.
The group also called on the AGF to as a matter of expediency constitute a panel of inquiry to unravel the masterminds of this sadistic occurrence in order to save valuable Nigerian lives.
“Plateau has been acclaimed for its peaceful mien however if these culprits are not brought to book the peace will be a thing of the past, as we are aware that they have vowed to ensure that the ethnic and religious killings in Plateau state continue without stop until their aim is achieved.
“It is in our honest belief in your ability to ensure justice and equity that we have brought these appeals to you as an arbiter of peace, to save further loss of innocent Nigerians. Remember justice delayed is justice denied.
“We await your kind intervention,” he said.
