The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has hailed the Arewa Turn Up 2.0 concert for engaging young talents from the northern region to build their careers and contribute to the country’s development.
Idris, who was represented by the Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Mallam Jubrin Baba Ndace, highlighted the economic potential of the creative industry and its capacity to generate billions of naira for the nation’s economy.
The Arewa Turn Up 2.0 is a creative initiative organized by Rahama Sadau and Ali Jita, produced by Dee Dee Films and Ali Jita Records in partnership with Transcorp Hilton. This second edition of the concert features live performances by entertainers from the north.
“You can see that in the last year, President Bola Tinubu’s focus, as part of his Renewed Hope Agenda, has been to create opportunities for all Nigerians, and this is one of those opportunities.
“What is most important is that this is not just an opportunity to engage the youth but also to give people a sense of belonging. Everyone is here, people are happy, and they are using their creative talents rather than engaging in social vices.

“The creative industry is one of the biggest industries worldwide. Entertainment is a multi-billion-naira sector, and Nigeria is no exception. So, I am very happy that this is happening, and you can see that the hall is filled to capacity. This aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” the Minister said.
Also, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation, Ali Nuhu Mohammed, expressed excitement over the turnout of artists and celebrities at the concert.
He urged multinational corporations and financial institutions to support initiatives like this, just as they do in the southern region, to encourage creativity.
While commending the concert organizers, Ali Nuhu called for greater support from industry stakeholders in future editions.
“You can see that this event is bigger and better, with participation from entertainers across Kannywood and the northern music scene. The entire northern region is represented today. Aside from that, there is a significant government presence, which is remarkable and impressive.
“So, I call on more multinational corporations and financial institutions to support events like this, just as they do when similar activities take place in the south.
“The organizers of this event have done a remarkable job. Additionally, I urge industry stakeholders who are not present today to participate in future editions because this is exactly the kind of support events in the south typically receive,” he added.
The Arewa Turn Up provides a platform to support indigenous talents in the entertainment and creative industries while showcasing Arewa’s music, culture, entertainment, and lifestyle to the world, highlighting its tourism potential.
