In its determination to implement the new minimum wage, Bauchi State Government has inaugurated a Joint Public Service Negotiation Council that will map out modalities for the implementation of the minimum wage in the state.
While performing the inauguration on Monday, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Mohammed Sabi’u Baba said that they are expected to submit their report on the 27th of the month.
Mohammed Sabi’u Baba enumerated some of the terms of reference of the Council to include recommending to the state government modalities of ensuring effective implementation of the minimum wage.

He also said that with their recommendations, the state government will ensure immediate commencement of the full implementation of the new minimum wage in the state as recommended by the Council.
The Secretary to the State Government, therefore, called on members of the council to justify the confidence reposed in them by doing justice in the discharge of their assigned responsibilities.
The Council has the State Head of Service (HoS), Alhaji Ahmed Ma’aji as chairman and 41 other members comprising government and labour officials.
