IN preparation for the upcoming 35th anniversary and 2024 annual convention, the founder and General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Worldwide Church, Pastor (Dr) Daniel Olukoya and his wife, Pastor (Dr) Elizabeth Olukoya, have conducted an inspection visit to Prayer City.
The visit, according to the church was part of the efforts to ensure all was in place for what promised to be a spirit-filled and impactful event.
The four-day programme, which will commence from August 15 to 18, will honour the church’s journey over the past 35 years as well as set to inspire and uplift attendees.
Pastor (Mrs) Olukoya expressed her delight during the visit at sighting the archival arena of the shopping mall, where the first vehicle used by the G.O., a Volkswagen ‘Danfo’ bus, is domiciled for historical purposes.
Mrs Olukoya went down the memory lane as she recalled how she and her husband used the bus to convery worshippers to their homes in Surulere and Victoria Island before heading back home in Yaba.
According to her, what most people did not know was that after conveying the worshppers to their homes, and some 10 minutes to drive to their home, “Satan would say, ‘you have dropped all others at home and you are now going home. Let me see how you will get home now’ and one of the tyres of the bus would go flat, right there on the road.
“Then, I would become the midnight traffic controller, directing vehicles away from the bus, while Daddy would change the flat tyre. Thereafter, we would embark on the remaining journey back home, around 1 am, most times, when we will start to think of what to eat before going to bed,” she said.
The church has maintained the original number plate of the bus, LA 7739 BE, and given it a fresh look in the archive for visitors and worshippers alike to behold.
The inspection team included two AGOs, Pastor Gbesan Adebambo and Pastor Ladejola Abiodun, the chairman of the convention planning committee; the deputy chairman and a Senior Regional Overseer, Pastor Clement Imoru, led other members of the committee, as well as the G.O’s monitoring team, on the tour.
