Lanre Gentry, the ex-husband of Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe, has sparked controversy on social media with a birthday message to their son, Olajuwon.
Today is Juwon’s birthday, and Lanre, being the father, posted a picture of him on his Instagram page with a caption that reads, “‘No matter how your mother tries to take you away from me, I still remain your father'”.
In the message, Lanre claimed that Mercy has been trying to keep their son away from him, but he remains his father despite her efforts.
The message reads, “No matter how your mother tries to take you away from me, I still remain your father.”
Lanre and Mercy parted ways about five years ago after their marriage of several years hit the rocks.
The couple has two children together, and their separation has been a subject of public interest.
Mercy has since remarried to a prominent movie producer and socialite in Lagos, Adekaz.
Lanre’s message has stirred reactions on social media, with many calling on Mercy to allow their son to have a relationship with his father.
